Elementary School

Children in grades K through 5 participate in a Christ-centered education designed to help them grow spiritually and skillfully for life ahead. Nurturing faculty guide students to see God’s handiwork in everything as they teach about his wonderfully integrated creation for a biblical worldview.

Curriculum Overview

  • Reading:  The Elementary uses Wonders as our main reading, writing, and spelling curriculum.  This research-based curriculum provides a strong literacy foundation, complex fiction and nonfiction texts, and writing. It also encourages students to develop social emotional and learning skills.
  • Bible: The goal of the ACSI Purposeful Design Elementary Bible curriculum is for every student to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, developed by nurturing and engaging with the Bible in this series.
  • Math: Using Math Expressions, students develop an understanding of mathematics through real-world situations and visual supports.  Multiple approaches are given to solve problems including algorithms based on reasoning.
  • Specials:  All grades have the opportunity to participate in music, physical education, art, computer and library weekly.

Other Resources

  • Educational Support Services: NWEA MAP data is collected three times throughout the school year to drive the instructional need of our students.
  • Discipleship:  LCS students attend chapel weekly where they participate in worship and listen to Bible teaching from local pastors.  Each class has an opportunity to lead chapel.
